1 block proposed for logging around Nitinat still has an open comment period on the province's Forest Operations Map. For each one below, copy the ready-made comment, then open the FOM to submit it. The comment asks for transparency and the records before an irreversible decision.
Make it yours before sending. A hundred identical letters read as a form campaign and are easy to discount. Two edits fix that: open with one line on who you are and what this place is to you, and cut any listed record you do not care about. A shorter comment in your own words carries more weight.
And it counts. The company must accept comments made in the window, and must report on the public comment process to government before it can apply for its cutting permit. How that works.
On the FOM page it takes about a minute. Press Submit a Comment, agree to the terms, add your name and town if you want the comment to carry more weight (contact details are optional), choose your block under Commenting On, paste, and submit. Comments can be up to 4000 characters; the drafts below fit with room to spare for your own words.
One check first. Some blocks are on First Nations tenure or a community forest. If the block you are commenting on is, the decision about that forest belongs to those communities, not to outside commenters. Keep any comment to the public's interest in seeing the records and the full cost, and address it to the province and its process, not to the Nation.
See all proposed blocks, open or approved, on the Proposed Logging Watch or the interactive map.
Comment windows as of 2026-07-09; confirm each deadline on its FOM project before relying on it.
